Cereal bars get a delicious update, with the addition of rich chocolate, toasted nuts, and decadent candy bar chunks.
INGREDIENTS
6 chocolate caramel nougat candy bars (such as Milky Ways)
1/2 c. unsalted butter
6 c. toasted corn cereal (such as Corn Chex)
1 package milk chocolate chips
1/4 c. chopped roasted, unsalted almonds
2 tbsp. mini semisweet chocolate chips
METHOD
- Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on 2 sides.
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the candy bars and butter, stirring every 30 seconds, until nearly melted, about 1 minute total. Whisk mixture until fully incorporated.
- Gently fold in the cereal until evenly coated. Press the mixture into the prepared pan and set aside.
- Melt the milk chocolate chips according to package directions. Spread over the cereal mixture. Sprinkle with the almonds and mini chocolate chips. Refrigerate until set, at least 1 hour and up to 2 days. Before serving, transfer to a cutting board using the overhangs and cut into squares.
