Chocolate Cereal Bars

Cereal bars get a delicious update, with the addition of rich chocolate, toasted nuts, and decadent candy bar chunks.


6 chocolate caramel nougat candy bars (such as Milky Ways)
1/2 c. unsalted butter
6 c. toasted corn cereal (such as Corn Chex)
1 package milk chocolate chips
1/4 c. chopped roasted, unsalted almonds
2 tbsp. mini semisweet chocolate chips


  1. Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on 2 sides.
  2. In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the candy bars and butter, stirring every 30 seconds, until nearly melted, about 1 minute total. Whisk mixture until fully incorporated.
  3. Gently fold in the cereal until evenly coated. Press the mixture into the prepared pan and set aside.
  4. Melt the milk chocolate chips according to package directions. Spread over the cereal mixture. Sprinkle with the almonds and mini chocolate chips. Refrigerate until set, at least 1 hour and up to 2 days. Before serving, transfer to a cutting board using the overhangs and cut into squares.
