These delicious slow-cooker grains are perfect.
2 medium apples, peeled and chopped
1 cup sugar
1 cup fresh cranberries
1/2 cup wheat berries
1/2 cup quinoa, rinsed
1/2 cup oat bran
1/2 cup medium pearl barley
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1-1/2 to 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
6 cups water
Optional Toppings: Milk, sliced apples, dried cranberries and chopped walnuts.
- In a 4 or 5-qt. slow cooker, combine the first 11 ingredients. Cook, covered, on low until grains are tender, 4-5 hours. Serve with toppings as desired.
